Core Classes
Connect your faith to everyday life!
At First Free Church, we’ve thought long and hard about the most important things that every disciple of Jesus should understand and cultivate in their daily lives. As a result, we’ve created six unique learning experiences that will help every adult disciple grow in their faith.
Who are these classes for?
These classes are ideal for anyone exploring Christianity or the Church, anyone new in their faith, or those desiring to build, or perhaps rebuild, a firm foundation as a growing disciple.
Story:
Explore the whole story of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
Starts September 13
Bible:
Learn how to read, study, and hear God’s Word.
Worldview:
Learn to navigate a diverse world of beliefs.
Beliefs:
Discover the foundational convictions that Christians believe.
Habits:
Build healthy habits for growing spiritually.
Formation:
Explore the purpose and process of spiritual formation for the individual and community.
Story:
In this 12-week class we will explore how the Bible is a unified story across all 66 books. We’ll look at the overarching narrative, breaking the storyline down into memorable components, and examining key themes that unify the smaller sections within the whole.
September 13–November 8
Habits:
In this 6-week class we explore the practices that are foundational for spiritual formation. Join us as we learn about habits like Bible reading, prayer, solitude, and fellowship.
Bible:
This 6-week class is a place to gain practical tips and tools as you learn to strengthen your personal study of the Bible. this class has a more interactive format where you’ll be able to do your own verse breakdowns and dialogue about them with the class.
The Bible class will be offered in early 2027.
Beliefs:
In this 12-week class we’ll work our way through the EFCA Statement of Faith. This class will answer foundational questions and help you see how understanding doctrine impacts our daily lives in real and practical ways.
Formation:
This Core Class is developed from the teachings of the Gospel class to further explore two important questions: What is the purpose of spiritual formation and how does the process of spiritual formation work in our individual lives and through the ministry of First Free Church?
Worldview:
In this 6-week class we’ll explore what the world and cultural “truths” are that surround us each day, and how they compare and conflict with the actual truth of God’s Word. This class will help you understand what a Christian worldview is and how to cultivate one practically in your own life, while engaging others with both compassion and discernment.

Studies + Groups
Building on the foundation of our Core Classes, we’d encourage you to make your way to one of our many “elective” classes. At First Free Church, we offer a variety of learning environments for studying books of the Bible and various topics of the Bible. With opportunities for men, women, and co-ed groups, these spaces are great for building community, too!

History + Prophecy in the Book of Daniel
Daniel is not only a hero of Bible stories—he was a historical person who interacted with other real historical people and places. Come learn how actual history shaped the story of Daniel, and how some of his God-given visions have already been fulfilled.

Titus: Reflection on Church Leadership is a 6-week course to prepare and equip leaders at all levels. The class is a part of onboarding for potential Elders, but is open to anyone interested in learning more about leadership in the church.

Gospel on the Ground

Join us this year as we trace the story of the early church — not as a verse-by-verse study of Acts, but as a journey into how the kingdom of God took root and spread through ordinary, Spirit-filled people.
Men’s Studies
Fruitful | Masculinity + the Fruit of the Spirit
We’re relaunching Men’s Ministry! Come learn how Jesus shows us what manhood looks like and how the Spirit makes that a reality in our lives. This will be a large-group discussion format led by Pastor Danny with opportunities for discussions at your table.

Group | The Journey Course
If you are stuck in patterns of unwanted sexual behavior, feel shame, isolation or confusion around your struggles, this group is meant for you. More than just behavior management, this course is deep, gospel-centered work—healing and restoring wholeness by understanding your story.
Seniors’ Studies
Cornerstone Class
The Cornerstone class is launching a 6-week class on Unbreakable Courage by Max Lucado. This study will explore the life of Elijah as a role model to follow when life is challenging. Join us!
